It is impossible for me to avoid the psychological content of a painting, even in science fiction we perceive the human nature that is created by the author which signifies his own senses in many cases but also the capacity to join two scenarios: the real and the unreal; for this reason The Quixote is an icon of the literature that man wrote along history and because of the impact of its human content. That is why I painted it, to express the human components of a fiction story created by Cervantes. When we observe slowly this painting, we identify that mysterious world that wraps the eye of the observer, making him part of the scenario, same as happened when we read the adventure of the Hidalgo.
At the background of the painting it's declared expressions of peace and sublimity. I applied tones of ciaroscuro that combines three components: space, earth, the figure of El Quixote and the presence of Cervantes; there also we see some curved lines trying to trespass the bi dimensional format to the real world where we live and making us participants of it's content. The thinking of El Quixote is being represented by the figures of small opened books that circulate for the space same as the words flying on the space.
The sight of El Quixote is direct to those who observe him, willing to travel thru the sub conscience. The expression of his face is out of this world of material things but also to display the essence of his feelings centered by the shape of his eyes. In his face there is the presence of many primitive components of the human being and a silver chin that signifies the maturity and youth. His chest is divided to differentiate the beauty of his interior truth and the truth contained in his heart.
